Rebekah, here.
I’m writing a longer post of what will become a series that I’ve previously affectionately called “Caregiving for Dummies.” First, I wanted to write a quick update since the last post ended abruptly.
Shayne is out of the hospital. For a brief moment yesterday we thought he was going to have to go right back in -he spiked a temp - but luckily we’re still home. A nurse now comes to the house every couple of days to take his blood and show me how to administer antibiotics.
In the upcoming week, Shayne has 1-2 appts everyday: getting his wisdom tooth removed, getting a TEE, a visit with his regular oncologist, and visits to the BMT clinic every other day. Then he goes in for a month.
Today, though, life seems a little bit normal. All of us are working from home, softly clicking on our keyboards and talking over the walls. We had lunch with my mama and stopped by our new house. It’s nothing spectacular, but I could get used to this quiet.
